JANUARY.

1/28 – After a 1-year sabbatical, I cryptically announce my return to much critical fanfare and media attention.

FEBRUARY.

2/11-2/12 – If you really want to hear about it (and you do), here’s why I decided to come back. It has to do with alcohol, depression and arcade games (in 2 parts).

2/14 – Just to shake off the rust, here was my Top 5 Albums of 2012.

2/15 – I also brought back The Walking Dead Friday for the remainder of the season.

2/18 – After a lifetime with a deformed front tooth, I volunteer for a little frontier surgery.

2/20 – A drunken, track-by-track review of the new My Bloody Valentine album.

MARCH.

3/4 – Hey, remember when my earlobe got cut off?

3/6 – A Cat Update that is, 9 months later, already woefully out of date.

3/11-15 – A detailed list and review of everything (and I mean everything) I wanted on TV for an entire week. This might have been the most fun thing I wrote all year, even if nobody else gave a toot. (Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5)

3/29 – I use The Walking Dead Friday to discuss a foot injury. Pain ensues.

APRIL.

4/3 – I bought my first new car! Check it out.

4/15 – Let’s go to the hospital!

4/22 – I update the CDP Archives during some routine maintenance, and over 100 ‘lost’ essays reappear. Pretty cool if you think you’ve read everything here (you probably haven’t; start over from the beginning).

4/30 – Buncha’ crap.

MAY.

5/7 – The Great CD Swap of 2000. A tale of new love and Pop Punk at the dawn of the Millennium.

5/16 – The series finale of The Office, and the unexpected return of Arrested Development, and why one is significantly better than the other.

5/31 – The scoop on my favorite new TV shows, before they even air. My predictions were solid.

JUNE.

6/7 – Seriously, I proved the existence of Time Travel because of a children’s book. Look.

6/10 – A tour of all the fun crap in my office that keeps me from writing another book.

6/14 – Probably the only essay I’ve ever written entirely about my dad. People liked this one; so will you.

6/19 – My 9th wedding anniversary with the Missus, and a private high school yearbook flashback.

6/24 – The 2013-2014 Fall TV Preview. Always one of my favorite posts of the year.

JULY.

7/1 – I break ground on Book #3. It’s slow going, but we’re getting there. For real.

7/19 – All about humiliation and bankruptcy at your local sub sandwich restaurant. Goddamn it.

AUGUST.

8/5 – Time to hit the reset button on my Summer.

8/26 – My day job allows me cageside seats to UFC 164; one of the best nights of my professional life.

SEPTEMBER.

9/13 – On Breaking Bad, episode hoarding and the way we watch television in 2013.

OCTOBER.

10/2 – We had to put our longtime feline homie, Gabe, to sleep. Here’s an old one in his honor.

10/7 – Art Bell returns to radio! Then…leaves six weeks later. Outstanding.

10/14 – Here’s a commercial-free, 24 hour (to the minute) Halloween movie marathon, just for you.

NOVEMBER.

11/1 – October was a good month, just like it always is (with bonus synchronicity!).

DECEMBER.

12/13 – My Top 20 tracks of 2013, per tradition.

12/16-20 – My Top 25 albums of 2013, blaz blurr bradition. (Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5)
